Answered Prayers

The Ruth Saunders Interview.

Con Review: Amberworld.
Olympia Comics Fest was loads of fun. Had to drive four hours both ways to get there -- which is probably why I'm not going to anything further. Frank's screaming he's never doing it again. What? When it's finally taking off?   I broke totally even, all costs, and I have a few.

Revelation: the old comics world is like a bug frozen in amber. While the webcomics crowd is whipping into the mainstream book market, the old comics market -- "mainstream," the former "underground," etc., and their one distributor are shrinking and crumbling. They know not of print-on-demand and Amazon. Amberworld will probably still be a fun place to go to for nostalgia and a safe place for young artists to practice, though. Could even become an academic circle.

Next time I take my chainsaw -- too much loose wood on the way back. I could have helped out Frank's neighbor if I'd known.
